As a major organization, AGBU Europe will develop its influence on European policy and aim to strengthen the position and the development of the Armenian State by operating at the European level on global issues and will bring together prominent members of Armenian communities in Europe, both as contributors to its strategy and as facilitators for implementing this strategy.

The Armenian Diaspora in Europe
The E.U. is a major force in cultural and educational areas, with many of its programs in direct link with the Armenian agenda in areas such as:

• Culture diversity and intercultural dialogue
• The preservation of local cultural heritage
• Multilinguism
• The fight against racism and genocide denial

Armenia’s Relationship with the E.U.
As the “South Caucasian Tiger”, Armenia enjoys strong and developing relationship with the E.U. AGBU Europe can be effective in:

• Contributing to reinforcing the links between Armenia and the E.U.
• Encouraging reform in Armenia that favors Europe Neighborhood Policy
• Supporting an eventual bid for Armenian membership to the E.U.
• Raising awareness at the E.U. on the situation in Karabakh

Turkey’s Accession Plan to the E.U.
Opportunity to push for radical change in the attitude of Turkey in following main areas:

• Recognizing the genocide of 1915
• The respect of minorities, notably Armenian
• Removal of economic blockade with Armenia
• Normalization of relationship with Armenia
